Veteran Fashion Flashback

Well hello Fashionable Fam!

Today in America is Veterans Day.

For the past few years I've taken a vacation day on Veterans day. So today I decided to visit my fashionable family.

As always I'm am proud to say Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed. No matter your belife or political affiliation we honor as Americans those who have chosen to serve.

I thought I would take a look back down my fashionable memory lane. I spent 10 years in the Army. I was not much into taking photos but I have a few.

Everthing else has been thrifted camouflage can be found everywhere in my Wadrobe. It has to be fashion camo. Boots hats jumpsuits headwraps. Some old soldiers wear buttons, ribbons, hats and badages. This is how I choose to remember.

I'm a I addicted to camo. If you a member of your family or friends or even someone you meet in your daily journey today. I want you to say this simple phrase.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Everyone be well.

Hello Kkards life has truly caught up with me. I'm one of the special ones that morning sickness and tiredness has gone way into the 2nd trimester. I'm doing well as can be expected. Thank you so much for thinking of me.

Hello Sterling how are you. I've got plenty of pictures just no time unfortunately. Trying to make space.

I was just thinking of you and hoping all was well.

Happy Veterans Day. I am thankful for the service of our Vets and today will be thanking the many of my family members who have served as well.

Ledonna -- You are fabulous in every way! Thank YOU for your service. I, too, am a vet (Army and Air National Guard)... but I served during a time of relative peace and never saw combat. I am so in awe of you and your fellow soldiers. On this Veterans Day I give honor to all of you and thank you for the sacrifices that you made on behalf of our nation.

Ledonna, so great to see you post and thank you for sharing these photos.

You are one incredibly stylish woman, inside and out.

Ledonna, congratulations on your service to your country, Veterans are important to all of us, especially today. You and other service people help to allow democratic society to thrive, thank you. In Australia we call 11 November Remembrance Day and the motto is 'Lest we Forget'. We observe 1 minute of silence at 11am to remember our fallen soldiers and wear poppies on our clothing as a mark of respect and in remembrance of our fallen soldiers in Flanders (amid fields of poppies).

Thank you for serving this country, Happy Veterans Day!! I love your strappy...not sure what to call them..boots? Heels? shoes. And you look marvelous in a peplum!

Ledonna, we salute you. Stay strong and proud, and keep rocking that camo.

So sorry you're struggling with morning sickness. I hear it can be brutal. Take care, hope it passes soon.

I cannot thank you and your fellow vets enough for your service (and thanks to you El Cee too, and all other fabber vets). We take so much for granted in our daily lives that we would not have if it were not for past, present, and future vets like you.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, hope it gets better soon.

I LOVE the juxtaposition of the real military garb with your civilian camo items across these photos...no wonder you do that style so well!

I hope you start feeling better soon, but I'm glad to hear things are well. Stay healthy and safe. :)

Lovely to see you post, Ledonna.  Sorry you've had to put up with the pesky morning sickness.
You've served your country well and should be proud of your contribution.

Thank you for sharing these pictures with us.  Camo is close to your heart, of course, and you look great in it, but it's good to see your softer side in the lovely, feminine outfit in picture 13 - so pretty.

Thank you for your service, Ledonna. That simple phrase really is so meaningful. I was on the phone with the Veterans Bureau a couple of days ago on my mother's behalf, and the woman on the other end asked me for my late father's branch of service. I told her, and she said: Thank you for his service. I teared right up. It meant a lot to me. He served 540 days of combat in WWII, as well as 20 years in the Army Reserves.

I'm sorry to hear about the continuing morning sickness, but glad to have an update. I was just wondering yesterday how you were getting along.

Camo loves you! Great pics. I've always loved khaki and army green, perhaps dating from the army fatigues, complete with name tag and cap, that my father bought for his two little girls. I still have that outfit my five-year-old self paraded around in in the back yard.

Ledonna, and to all the veterans here, thank you for your service. Our freedom depends on it.

Ledonna, morning sickness s***s, but the rewards are definitely worth it.
Isn't it amazing that a wee one can grow inside a person.

Looking forward to the eventual baby pictures, and to catching up with you anytime you have time to post.

You really turn a uniform upside down & make it your own. Amazing.
Also I love the lace up sandal boots in #6.
Hopefully the pregnancy will get easier

Thank you so much for your dedication, service and sacrifice. May you remain blessed!

I'm sorry the morning sickness followed into your 2nd tri. That is hard. I did get a reprieve but had issues in my 3rd. Each day you push through is awesome! You are doing a great job!

  • JAileen replied 7 years ago

Thank you, Ledonna, for your service. I thought of you on Friday, and also my father who served in WW2, and my brother who served in the 70s.

In today's local paper, on the front page in fact, is a story of my son's bagpipe teacher, and his daughter. He, his wife, and now his daughter are all in the military. My son doesn't play anymore, but for several years he was in a pipe band. The teacher taught my son and several of his friends, starting as 8th graders, how to play the pipes, and compete at Celtic Fairs. The teacher was deployed for awhile and others had to step in and run the band. Now the teacher's daughter who was a preteen, and just learning to play the pipes, is now grown and in the air force. It was wonderful to read the article. Her father is retiring soon, and she will be the only military piper in the state.

BTW, I hope your pregnancy is going well.
