The greatest little big chapeau...

Well hello family!

Angie's blog today I spoke to my my love of hats. Sometimes like Angie get out of my head. Let me introduce you to one of my favorites. I bought her a long long long time ago from a vintage shop in Paris. She is a light blue looking like denim silk hat. When I put her on it was beautiful love at first sight or Love at First wear. I recently wore her again to church this past Sunday so it's fitting that I write about her.

I was going to title this post all you ever give me is the Blues a. It's from a group called Tony Toni Tone. Well because of Heather's have for many years I treat her very carefully she is in perfect condition and I mean perfect condition I'll have her steam cleaned once in awhile. As I said on Andy's blog it's very hard to find a good hat to fit a large head as well as a small head there is no one-size-fit-all standard. Although as in fashion they tried to be. Our looks from head to toe Our Vintage and thrifted and upcycled.

I love the pattern play that was going on and both Zi'Joy & my own fit. The play on polka dots me and my polka dotted palazzo pants Ensign and her polka dotted top. The tie-in of the flowers a great friend of ours gave us flower headbands. Talk about something not fitting Zi'Joy beautiful and hers. I on the other hand not so much. I decided to make it into a wrist corsage.

I love the Tomboy is girly look for my daughter I put her in all types of clothes. So the camouflage flower print pants or Too Cute. With so much pattern is so many brights going on I felt like I needed a solid which was my dark blue top which is a play on the high low trend.

I've included some of my favorite hats and pictures of my favorite hats from different times.

As usual all are welcome, lurkers, comments are always welcome or just stop by to say hi. I hope this finds you all well until next time.

All of your hats are amazing, but the vintage silk from Paris -- OOH LA LA!!
I love the way you dress Zi'Joy in your favorite prints like camo and leopard!

Your little one has gotten so big already.

That flower is as big as her head! Baby dressing is so fun.
I love all your blue hats. That song was nearly the title of my blog yesterday, but then I decided to use something that refered the decision I was making about wardrobe essentials.
8 is a great photo, just photo-wise. 14 made me laugh because I think it's a great depiction of being crazy busy and so happy with a little one. I bet your daughter is going through all sorts of exciting changes now, learning all the little steps from holding her head up to rolling over to--pretty soon--sitting up. It's such a fun time.

Wow!  You have a great hat collection!  That's great that you can get Zion'Joy to wear a hat.  My kids all hated them when they were babies/toddlers.  Which is bad since it's so sunny here that strangers would come up to me and tell me that the baby should have a hat.

You are definitely a hat wearer (!)

Like Mama like daughter! I love the pair of you in hats. You wear headgear so well, Ledonna. Your Parisian find is a beauty. I've always admired that straw boater on you, and love getting another glimpse of one of my all-time favorite outfits of yours, the gorgeous striped skirt ensemble in #12.

  • Ledonna N. replied 6 years ago

Kate that striped skirt will continue to be one of my all-time favorites. And the boater hat remember the trip every time I wear it a whirlwind trip to New York and Washington DC where I bought the Hat. I love wearing it it's so elegant and Regal.

Rachylou I got to rock a hat we got to rock a Good Hat.

Sarah l. I try to stay away from Jersey people. People can't live my life. I have to correctly and swiftly let them know not to judge. Some kids do when some kids don't not Mama problem. One day at a time periods I Zion Joy where's just about everything I put her in her little cute self. Having children is a challenging thing I'm sure one day she's going to say no mama no mama. So I'm getting all I can right now!

Fashiontern I truly just enjoyed your post I see we have the same musical interest. She's rolling over like a champ now. Everyday there's something new on something more she's interested in people she smiles at everybody laughs and Giggles I hope that Joy is just inherently beautiful she's rolling over like a champ now. Every day there something new one something more she's interested in people she smiles at everybody I hope I can continue to nurture that good and beautiful Joy that is just inherently beautiful.

CitiGirlDC I just love a good hat but I also love your vintage style it's so beautiful. Can you believe she's almost 4 months old now it's her role just keep on getting bigger and bigger and she's getting so long.

Anne I bought her when I was in the military and very young oh my God it was so beautiful and it was a good time now feels like two or three lifetimes ago I still have that hat I still have the memory. And I Still Rock it.

Ryce I just love pattern mixing I hope to pass that on to my daughter . I know school can be harsh though everybody just wants to fit in I hope to teach her sense of Independence not just in style but in sense of self. I'm trying to find a way to build up her courage and strength.

Frannyb thank you so much I've got a long time ago that I would choose to smile. And and baby makes me smile inherently I don't know. Just changes me I feel like I've gone from old Soldier two not so old Soldier.

"I would choose to smile", you sound, and look, so energetic and positive Ledonna, it's always a pleasure to read your posts and look at your joyful pictures.

  • Stagiaire Fash replied 6 years ago

LeD, I see you've got your priorities right & aren't spending the day online :).
I hope you and Zion are having a joyful day of adventures.

I have no idea how that shoe got there, and no matter how many times Inclick "remove" and submit changes, it won't go away. Oh well, maybe it wants to tell you to have a relaxed fun time kickin' it.

  • Kari replied 6 years ago

Amazing! I LOVE your hats on you.
I wore cloche hats for a while but got out of the habit. You have me itching to break them out!

  • KnittingGene replied 6 years ago

How cool is that to be able to just drop a: " long long long time ago from a vintage shop in Paris." You are awesomeness and I adore that hat. I can't believe you found it in a larger size! I almost never try any vintage hats on since I'm so sure none will fit - gonna have to try it!

That striped skirt ensemble in #12 took my breath away! I love your style.

  • replied 6 years ago

Gorgeous in spirit and subject. Your love of color is joyFULL

  • Ledonna N. replied 6 years ago

Thank you alk so much. I try to set for us a steady flow during the work week.

I've had so many incarnations during this 43 years on Earth. Soldier, wife, engineer, the ultimate to me being mother. I love those stories from long long ago cuz that's how long it seems. I can't believe that when I was 25-26 I felt like the old Soldier and I'm looking at 18 19 year old. Life is funny that way I try to live in the Now set up in the past but I do love a good vintage find. Always wanting to know the history of something making up my own history about it and the journey and might have gone on. I guess something that will never get rid of you just having one of them even if it was Joy just keeping it and remembering the times I didn't hear it.
