W.I.W....HOUSE NATION 30,000 strong.

Hey YLF Family. Saturday was a great day 97 degrees outside in the Chi and the Living is easy breezy.

We went HOUSING/Dancing in the Park today also known as Grant Park in the Chi. From 3pm until 9. Whew, was I wiped out. You can do a Pinic and bring lawn chairs. So much fun. So what does one wear to HOUSE in the park? Why anything they darn well please. Festival gear, jeans and t shirts, boots and top hats, dressy fits and heels. We let our imagination run wild and all are welcome.

As for me. Well I live to dance. I need pockets in my fit. I don't like to carry bags they could get lost. I need flow and feet protection. I wear what's colorful, eye catching and has flow. Everthing is from the op shop except the boots. The lace is hard to see or photograph I tried my best. I found an inspiration photo and wanted to give my spin. As usual a whole lot of pictures to follow.

What I'm wearing:
Hat artist made by Sconi wear
Black mesh top Thrifted
Black lace skirt Thrifted (I cut out the lining of the lace skirt and wore a one piece skirt swimsuit underneath)
Bottle cap seatbelt belt Thrifted
Cherry red pleather boots my new favorite I can stomp with the best of them and feet protection.
I provided a link of a bit of today's music. HOUSE NATION 4LIFE

Wowie zowie! Live wire! Look at all those people!

And now I totally want to go find myself a lace topper dress :)

Awesome outfit!  You are so creative.  I admire the way the outfit checks off your needs list -- can move in it, feet protected, etc.  I am used to seeing you in lots of color but I think I like you in black even more. With the splash of color with the boots, outfit would look "safe" without that element.

Loved the link, I felt like I was there.  I have fond memories of clubbing in Chicago in the 80s.  Lots of great places, really had more fun there than at the high-profile places in NYC where I lived post-Chicago.

  • Sally replied 7 years ago

You look gorgeous. I actually think yours was better than the inspiration. What a fun event. I like how it started in the afternoon and was all about dance.

  • Cococat replied 7 years ago

What fun it must have been and your outfit is perfect!

  • replied 7 years ago

    WOW.

  • Mochi replied 7 years ago

OMG, one of the all-time best outfits ever. Like early 80's Madonna, but made your own. I crave those boots, but maybe I just crave seeing you wear them. This made my day. I almost hear the music. What fun!

fab interpretation of the inspiration outfit! love your version ---the red boots are fab and work so well, but i can see it this outfit going so many different ways with a quick change of shoes!

  • Diana replied 7 years ago

You look incredible! I think your version is so much better than the inspiration.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Chris don't let the fat fool you! Hahaha lol haha. This big girl can move and after years of HOUSING. I know to stretch drink at least 2 gallons of water. Carry a bottle of Gatorade and take asprin before and after with a hot shower after all is said and done. Oh and plenty of bananas. Hmm haha

    DIANA thank yo so much

Kkards that is true I changed to go to a fancy restaurant after. Lol to flats.

Mochi yes flashbacks we love it. The Red boots are kick a $$ ha ha. Ha lol I feel like wonder woman

    Sterling I know right. Lol

Cocoa music is the universal language

Sally yes the city provides free concerts I love it. Very family oriented. People were there with kids who had noise early protection. Kids disabled people young not so young all dancing.

Deborah yes this is the 2nd year of the event. So much fun

CocoLion thank you so much. So many people take videos. For those that cannot make it. I'm glad you enjoyed the link

Rachylou it's funny how many ways you can wear lace. Oh my I can see it with your beautiful feel hair. When my hair gets longer I'm gonna weave purple into it. I dyed my poor hair last year purple it was a nightmare. I had to share it off. Thank goodness I can rock a ball head no lumps or bumps.

Le Donna- I love clicking on these post and looking at your outfits you are amazingly creative. Love it!

  • Momo replied 7 years ago

    Didn't mean to embarrass

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Momo I did not mean it in a bad way. I'm kinda selfconcious about my shape. It's a growing edge if mine.

Debbie I'm glad you enjoy. It's just as fun reading your post.

  • BrieN replied 7 years ago

    Great outfit, very memorable.

  • Momo replied 7 years ago

    I gotcha
I react the same way when people say things about me and yet. I need to hear it!

  • Chris987 replied 7 years ago

Shevia yes we need to go thrifting .....we need a meet-up in Chi with LeDonna where she takes us to her fab thrift shops and shows us how.....could take several days.....wow wouldn't' that be fun??  Might be exhausting for you LeDonna but you have that hydration/aspirin/Gatorade thing down pat so maybe not so exhausting....:-)

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Oh my it sounds like a plan. Wold love to go thrifting.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

AND...the Chicago area has an Eileen Fisher outlet store.
Ledonna, you look better than your inspiration photo. Those fab red boots will " Shero" any outfit.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

I did not know the EF outlet was in the Chi. I have to plan a trip. That would be fun.
