WIW: Work

Hey Family,

So most of the time I post all of my weekend or after work looks. I decided to show you all what I wear at work.

My official title is Telecommunications Installer in the I.T field. I work with phones, computers, fiber optics, cable and wire for a major university in THE Chi.

Doing my job i usually wear jeans and a nice button down or top. During my pregnancy these have become my "uniform".

So these are my "at work maternity wear" . I have the dresses in 2 or 3 colors most are denim and a few knits. Long sleeve tops as undershirts. Leggings of different colors usally black, blue and grey. And slip on gymshoes and boots. Not the most glamorous fits in the world but sometimes I have to be on the floor or in dusty Telephone Closets.

Have you ever wanted to trash something because you were just sick of wearing it? Well these are the fits. I will wind up donating them at the end of 2017 but they have served me well.

I'm literally growing everyday. I tried to do a side shot to show you how big nuggett is getting. I'll get a better one on sunday.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for reading.

Toned down Simple Working Ledonna is ADORABLE. Like the mini fro, and YES - I can understand that you'll want to say goodbye to these clothes at the end of 2017. NEXT.

  • JAileen replied 7 years ago

I was pregnant when we wore big tents. I definitely got sick of everything, especially because I didn't have a very big maternity wardrobe and had to wear everything over and over and over. I like your maternity color scheme. It's what I wear everyday!

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

That ks Angie this REALLY toned down for me. The afro is leaving tomorrow. Im hot. I mean literally hot.

JAileen. I like the color scheme also it's yoi are so right.

You look terrific! I'm petite too and remember how bored I was with my maternity clothes that last trimester. It seemed to me, being impatient, that seven months was plenty of time for a pregnancy :) After that it felt like the babies were kicking me from shoulders to knees. The boys were born tall ... so could be true.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

These look perfect for your job and condition, but I can understand wanting to toss them when you can get back into regular clothes. Like JAileen, I had very few maternity things that I could wear and outgrew most of them toward the end. I never wanted to see them again!

My fave is #2. It's got attitude. Also, sneakers are the only shoe I can wear right now.

Oh woe is me. I injured my foot. I have the day off, wanted to go to the museum, but I'm just lying down boring my dog.

    Rachylou i feel you . i am working4 days a week cause I have Dr's appointments every week now. I have a feeling o
I will be spending most of the day resting. I started out really enjoying that fit but no longer. I hope your poof foot recovers. On the flupside you have lillypup.

Joy im glad im down to the last 6 weeks. I hope tomot outgrow these. Who knows.
    .
Sandy G. Right. My meal portions are so small now. Because i literally have no room. it also feels as if little nugget is turning downwards. Thank you.

You look great-- and remember (sadly) it may take a few weeks after Nugget that you can get rid of your maternity clothes. Despite being in the medical field, I expected to go right into regular clothes when my daughter was born and cried when I couldn't. It's all fine, but I wish someone had reminded me!

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

You do work pregnancy outfits as well as you do play. I found this picture when I was looking through old pics. Chin up and yes these clothes were trashed soon after.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Thank you for the reminder IPR200. That's why im gonna wait until the end of 2017 or beginning of 2018. Hopefully i can slowly but surely begin the journey to healthy recovery.

Shevia how beautiful thank you for sharing.

That's a good work look and well done for solving. I like the green tunic and trainers.

I was so hot I remember driving somewhere with DH and the fog was rolling through and all 4 windows were down and my husband said plaintively "Can't we put up the windows?" and I said "Not unless you want me to throw up!"

Rachylou, I hope your foot mends quickly. I'd hate missing a planned museum day.

You need to be comfy while pregnant and working. With my first I worked right up to the day she was born. You have a much more stylish wardrobe than I did. I think you look great!

I was so poor when I was pregnant the first time. I wore hospital scrubs which I snagged from work until I outgrew them. LOL! I was so huge with DD that people thought I was carrying twins. She ended up weighing 9 lbs 12 oz at birth, so she was large. In any case, I managed to also purchase a few specific items for pregnancy. A pair of jeans, and two pairs of leggings, one was red and one was white. I also purchased three coordinating tops in a red and white palette. DH thought he was helping out one night when I was on call by doing the laundry and he turned everything pink! He didn't separate the reds from the whites! I had to keep wearing them! Ugh! I didn't toss them after DD was born either. I ended up saving them until my second pregnancy which was 4.5 years later, but they were for the wrong season, so I joyfully tossed them out!

  • Bijou replied 7 years ago

Yes I too remember way too well feeling so sick of the small maternity wardrobe. Even today, with fluid fits, some items give me flash backs to maternity wear and I just don't want to go there again!
You and little nugget are really on the home stretch now. You look beautiful in your work clothes and we all give you absolute permission to trash them ASAP once you fit back into normal clothing.

I'll admit to being curious about your field of employment and work-wear!  Your after-work looks are so big and stylish--I wondered if you were able to dress like that all the time.  Now, I see you still look colorful, layered, and put together, but also ready to crawl around on dusty floors and whatnot.  Nicely done.  Hang in there with the nugget!  Having a growing baby in the tummy certainly gets more interesting towards the end of term.  ;-)

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Emil K thank you. I've npt mastered the art of the selfie so i choose ot to rake pictures. It's good o show the other side with work.

Bijou i can so understand that feeling. End of te year i will be donating.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Jane thank you it serves the purpose well and is so comfortable.

Barbara D I get so hot it feels like something i would say.

Staysfit i want to give you comedy and wisdom. This is all so true. I refse to buy anything else. So who knows what ill be loking like when baby is born in 4 weeks l

LeDonna, let me just say that I'm so in awe of your career. Women in STEM fields is a wonderful thing and I wish I could insert fist bump emojis or something for you

You look adorable in your work fits. They're subdued, but still LeDonna. Well done!

  • replied 7 years ago

LeDonna, you outfits are perfect for what you need to do. It's hard to imagine a better outfit for times when you do need to get dusty and dirty.

I know what you mean about wanting to donate overused outfits. I had three of four and wanted to run them by the end of the pregnancies.
