The Stroll.......

Happy Friday Family!

Ah, The week has been short but, so full.

So last night a friend invited me to take a stroll in Downtown Chicago.

I thought to myself. "What does one wear to take a stroll? "

I've been for walks but, this was a grown type of thing. Lol

I decided I wanted to elevate my look but still be me.

I had to really think because it has been in the 90s in Chicago lately even with the sun going down. We had a grand time strolling along the Magificant Mile. I saw some new to me areas and we'll we had a grand time.

Although I don't have pictures of myself strolling my sister was kind enough to take pictures before I left. I also took a picture of the Mural on the Mesume of Contemporary Art.

Thank you Desiree. My sister reads my blog. Lol

What I wore:
strapless denim dress (allows airflow )
Silk Knit sweater (this felt retro romantic)
Silk hat (loves this)
Gladiator Shoes (I have these in multiple colors)
Earings (artist made)

As always thank you for looking, commenting and or stopping by. You are always appreciated.

Oh yes. You definitely need a hat and a flowy dress to take a stroll! Perfect!
Love the movement looks like the dress and the cardigan are just floating along as you stroll.

The description of your stroll makes me feel nostalgic. The hat, earrings, and dress are perfect together - looks like the perfect outfit for the occasion :-)

Your dress is perfect for strolling on a warm evening, but I especially love your hat. The cardigan has movement and looks romantic. The Magnificent Mile would be a wonderful stroll. Your post reminds me of trips to Italy and the custom of the evening stroll.

Do people still stroll? I did not know that. Anyway, Chi seems like a good place for one.
This seems like a good outfit to stroll in: Lots of swishy swish.

I love this!  Great dress for an evening stroll.  The hat, earrings, and shoes are perfect accessories.  I don't think I've seen those shoes on you before and I love them.

Ledonna, your sense of style is just unerring. I love this. The dress is perfect for a grownup stroll (breezy yet modest, and protects against any mosquitos that the heat might bring out, too!). The hat and shoes are fantastic -- both very current and hearkening back to a 1920s feminine glamor. You look so pretty in this outfit... lovely!

Fantastic stroll outfit, with lots of drape to catch those evening breezes!  Your dress looks so cool and refreshing.

I love going to Mexico because in the evening, everyone comes out to stroll and visit and flirt.  It's a wonderful custom!

I can't get enough of your murals.  Chicago must be the mural capital of the world!  That has to make a stroll even more fun.

I like the hat even more in the close-up pic to show that it is silver colored.

Such a lovely outfit for a stroll. Is the dress opaque enough that you don't need a slip? That is my summer HEWI.

A stroll is such a charming invitation. And your outfit suits that perfectly. Happy weekend to you!

momo, Thank you it had just the right movement.

Sihaya,  Oh yes, days gone by. When people actually dressed for walking.  lol

Joy, I've never been to Italy it sounds so perfect.

Smittie, Apparently people still do. I had no idea.  lol The Chi. blossoms in the summer.

Sara L, I have another pair I recently wore in black. I titled the post copper and blue or something like that. I really like them.  I should have bought more colors.

Suz, That is exactly right.  I thought of the 1920s with the hat. My modern haircut did not match the look I was going for and I had this on my hat shelf waiting to be worn this fall.

Xtabay, lol you made me smile.  I think we just have to see them.  They are plentiful.  I could see evening strolls in Mexico along the beach.

AJ you cannot see through the dress but it is light weight enough to still catch the breeze.  No slip needed thank goodness.

Eliza Thank you so much it was a bit of a surprise but I loved it.  I felt so elegant.  lol

Fabulous head to to (as always). Love the sandals - what other colors do you have these in???

  • Diana replied 7 years ago

This is gorgeous.  So swishy and soft and the color palette really adds to the mood too.  Perfect for strolling!

  • rabbit replied 7 years ago

Really lovely and probably even better in motion!

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Viva. I have a black and brown pair also.

Thank you Diana yes it set the tone.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Rabbit when the breeze caught it or u walked it was so lovely

  • replied 7 years ago

Very nice. Like the hat and the sweater too, but think I would have been hot.

  • rachylou replied 7 years ago

Put me in mind straight away of Jane Austen and young ladies having a walk through the hedge rows! Wonderful :)

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Delurked-We went for the walk in the evening and the silk sweater was very lightweight breezy type of pretty nothing.  These pictures were taken right before about 6ish so it was ok.

Rachylou  I was thinking similarly because it was such a ladylike style.

  • replied 7 years ago

Ooh, lovely! I can almost sense the lightness and swish of the fabric from the photos. And I gotta say that I love those earrings and hat.

  • Jane replied 7 years ago

A great look. Soft colours that blend beautifully. I would love to feel some of that warmth, the weather here is not great!

  • Summer replied 7 years ago

Now doesn't that sound civilised? - a leisurely evening stroll.
You look perfectly dressed for the occasion, Ledonna: relaxed but elegant, and I love the silk hat.

  • BrieN replied 7 years ago

Beautiful. Inspired choice for a stroll on a warm summer evening.
