Sunday Slay: The Kitchen Sink

Hey Family!

I must admit that I liked all the patterns and colors that came into play. I counted 4 different patterns. Plaids, pinstripes, stripes, Checks,

I really wanted a plaid bottom but it was not in the cards. Instead I went for a subtle blue pinstripe on the pants. A pattern tie of pink and black. A striped shirt my favorite vintage reversable cape. I trided to ground everthing. With a denim shirt, hat and denim gymshoes. I carried a red bag to tie in the shoestring and bag.

From pictures 1 & 9 I replaced only the shoes because heels are a dream for me at ths point. I could see myself wearing this in the future with just the right plaid pair of pants or skirt.

As usall all are welcome. Even if this is not your style. What would you change or add too.

Thanks in advance.

Love it!  And I say this as a person that only wears one pattern per outfit.  Usually stripes:)  The cape is fabulous.

  • Jenn replied 7 years ago

Awesome. I'm getting an Annie Hall vibe.

  • Momo replied 7 years ago

You totally nailed that! Awesome pattern mixing.

    KILLER

You did the ensemble proud, sweet Ledonna. Maternity wear has never looked so vibrant and energetic.

  • Diana replied 7 years ago

This is awesome!  I love the menswear styling combined with the pattern mixing.  Super fun.

Yay! Thrilled to see the return of the fab vintage cape. Also liking how the bright accents are working together.

I wouldn't change much about this look, but I can see a version of it in graphic black/white only with a few bold red/pink accents. And maybe a tiny heel (when nugget is on the outside of course ;)

Love the energy you display in these photos :) Love the hat and flower, too ... just right IMHO!

This outfit is through the roof fabulous. I love the pattern mixing, with the very classic color palette grounded by denim tones. And the layers are so well done. You really won me over with the plaid tie and red shoelaces. Those are the kinds of touches that really make the outfit stunning.

Fun photos and style as usual! Love love love the cape!
You almost always wear a hat or head covering of some sort - has it always been part of your style? You have a wide variety of styles, colors, patterns, and they all look fab. I love hats, but have never felt comfortable in them, so total fashion envy for your ease and comfort in them.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Thea I just love hats. To be honest I had to find the right ones for my rather large head. Now I just rock them I have about 25. Different shapes and sizes. I eear headwraps also. I think I've worn them regularly for about 10 years or so.

Thank you everyone. I enjoyed this one so much vecause I could just shop my closet.

Angie thank you again for the inspirations.

I love your outfit and your description of how you put it together. I had not thought about the grounding an outfit part, that makes it work very nicely.
I will keep it in mind so that I can add some fun to my outfits.

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 7 years ago

  • cindysmith replied 7 years ago

Yes! I really really love it!

  • replied 7 years ago

I particularly love the pops of color with the patterns.

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

You are a creative genius. I especially love the ones with the big flower on display.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

    Maximal is my middle name.

Thank you all. This was a fun ine and right in my comfort zone.

I think even in a busy or clash of pattern your eye still needs to rest. Hence the denim.

    Flower power goes kapow! :D

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

You look stunning. I love this so much.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Something tells me maximal outfits will be very easy for you to put together.  :)  But my favorite thing about your outfits is always that your WIWs make me smile, you really have fun with fashion and it is catching, nice job!

  • Karie replied 7 years ago

As always, you rock these outfits. I adore that swingy reversible plaid coat!

  • Inge replied 7 years ago

That plaid coat is all kinds of awesome, Ledonna, and I absolutely love it paired with the striped top. Love how you've pulled it all together with the subtle pinstripe in the pants and that super fun tie. The bright blue shirt and pink accents are the cherry on the pie. Love!!

  • Beth Ann replied 7 years ago

Wowza!  This is not what they used to show in the maternity catalogs!  Log the drama, alongside the practical comfy nature of widelegs and sneaks.  You look terrific!

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Inge the pinks and reds were a favorite of mine.

Beth Ann thank you so much. I thought my maternity wear would be boring. Thanks to the ladies of YLF this has een a great fashion journey.
