Hip Train Conductor All aboard!

At least that is what my neice said to me when I asked her to take these pictures. We went out to see a scary movie over the weekend called Oujia and this is what I wore. For the record I hate scary movies but the neice loves them. I refuse to see them at night. Whatever happened to the Disney cartoons she used to watch.

Back to more pleasant things. I just love overalls and I was lucky enough to find a golden ring at the thrift store. A pair of brand new overalls in the men's section that were unique. My friend and creative mastermind Oshun Bey turned them into a pair of drop crotch pants and decked them out with cool sayings for.a unique look. The hat is another creation by Sconi wear.

My turtleneck is great and is sleeveless. ONE of the more interesting things about this pregnancy so far is my clothing fits in the body but not in the arms. So sleeveless is a goodway to accommodate this issue. The jacket I'm wearing is just a simple waster fall open front thing. My boots look like Combat boots with a whole bunch of buckles and straps which are hidden.

I think our wadrobe should be filled with things we love to wear even if thrifted.

Have a great day.

P.S.

This was this pat weekend at 19 weeks. This Saturday will.be my 20TH week so yeah. We are moving right along.

You look terrific. I love your fabulous refashioned and personalized overalls. They do have a fun Retro Railroad Engineer vibe  -- but you will need a very, very cool and stylish train... like the one in the graphic for Soul Train. (Now I am dating myself!) Have a fab day -- and enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Great refashioned overalls!  I love the overalls and the cowl neck together.  It's different and interesting.

    Almost half way there!

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

A cuter and more vibrant train conductor there never was.

  • Ginger Tea replied 7 years ago

I really like this outfit. It's unique with a great sense of personal style.

  • approprio replied 7 years ago

Heh. This reminds me of the time I was out and about on the tram in double dark wash denim and an engineers cap. I thought I looked really cool until someone handed me a ticket to inspect.

I'm with you about loving your clothes no matter where they come from, and I love the dropped crotch alteration on the overalls. You are totally killing it with the maternity wear.

Don't appreciate you sticking your tongue out at me...but since you are preggo , I will overlook it.   : )

LOVE it. You look great.  ( PS I also know someone named Tem....)

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Appropriate that sound like a fab fit. I love what you wear. It is a great and funny story. This will probably be the last wear for a while for these overalls little nugget is getting big.

Ginger Tea thank you. It was fun wearing these.

    Angie thanks so much haha

Sarah almost almost. I did not think it would work at fist but my sister liked it so I went with it.

El Cee I'm right there with you. I remember saturday mornings watching Soul Train. Haha

Ahhh Ledonna, you're killing me here; I LOVE overalls, and those striped overalls are truly fab. Wouldn't have thought to wear 'em with a t-neck sweater but it's such a great look. And that hat is a killer. The way you combine and wear clothes is just such a treat. You do indeed look fab!

I wore overalls for my senior year college photo. My mother was not best pleased. To her credit, she displays it on a shelf in her home. That photo still makes me smile. Pic #6 in your lineup could grace a magazine.

Fellow overalls fan here! Looks great! And when I was little, when my Dad told me he was an "engineer" I thought he meant a train engineer. I wondered why he never wore striped overalls and cap - I didn't know he was a mechanical engineer in an office haha.

As always, in parting, we wish you love, peace and soul! RIP Mr. Don Cornelius.

  • Missey replied 7 years ago

Love it! You are rocking the pregnancy look! Very fun, eclectic and fashionable, as always! Not a maternity section vibe in sight :)

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Kate what a great story. My H.S. years were wearing them but mom drew the line at pictures. Lol I decided to use 6 as my cover photo on FB

Binkle. great memory thank you for sharing that is too funny. Don was the man. Fun fact Soul Train was started here in Chicago and Don himself was a former Police Officer for the Chi.

Missey I kind of out grew the l9cal plus size it was cute but not my style. Flamboyant

This outfit is so fun, and I love it on you. I love thrifting, but I don't have the imagination (or any friends with the skills) to turn a basic garment into something so much more intend wearable. Love seeing what you come up with!
    Edit: corrected typo

"I think our wardrobe should be filled with things we love to wear even if thrifted."

What a fantastic statement! So true. I  love all the textures in your outfit....maximal but with quiet neutrals. Fab all around.

  • lady replied 7 years ago

I love cowl necks and it's cool how you've paired them w overalls. I'd never consider that but it works here.

How awesome is your friend?! Seriously, how many people have a friend re-imagining their thrift finds? That's awesome.

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Lady my job is so straight laced and Tech driven. I started to go to artist makes and natural friendships developed that I'm greatful for. Oshun is a creative genius with creating and up cycling clothing.

Chris I love the quite notes and how the flow with the parts that stand out. I think it reall is a complete reflection of 9f me.

Cynthia I always think of thrifting as a solitary sport. I n was lucky enough to be introduced to a local.F.B
group.that enjoys the thrift as much as I do. It is a learned art.

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

I love every detail. Best maternity wardrobe ever!

  • Jaime replied 7 years ago

Your overalls are spectacular! You are a maternity style icon. Non-maternity too :) .

  • Ledonna N. replied 7 years ago

Shevia awe thank you style icon 7ou have me laughing. I know for a fact you can give me a run for my money in the thrift and style department. I'll leave the icon to Annagybe.

    Joy thank you

  • Karie replied 7 years ago

Super cute and super fun! You are an expert thrifter. Glad to hear you are doing so well with your pregnancy.

  • replied 7 years ago

You look stunning as ever, Ms Ledonna! Love the drop crotch overalls. What a brilliant mum-to-be wardrobe you're creating. You should channel your (and your designer friends') creativity and start a reworked clothing maternity store.

  • Bijou replied 7 years ago

Wow almost half way there. You are moving along in spectacular style. I love how you have fun with fashion.

  • kkards replied 7 years ago

    Alonia,

Ohsun has a full cottage industry on her hands.  The best part about her clothing is that it can grow with me.

  • Janet replied 7 years ago

So fun! I love that you have customized overalls. How cool. Great hat too! And look at your attitude in those photos -- we should all have that much fun when we're in front of a camera (I'm too self-conscious!).
